Proximity Labs is a research firm focused on the NEAR ecosystem. The team works closely with many projects building on NEAR, provides grants, and creates open-source software benefiting the NEAR ecosystem.
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join the team. You’d be working alongside industry’s elite (including NEAR OGs) on a mission to build the discovery layer of Web 3.0.
This position is well-suited for an individual who excels in a diverse skill set environment and possesses a fervor for end-to-end design, development, and implementation, coupled with a strong commitment to quality control. A strategist adept at optimizing product builds for superior outcomes and scaling solutions across multiple mandates.
What you'll do:
Development of open source software, from the design stage all the way to production ready implementations
Provide in-depth feedback on strategy, roadmap, and other product topics
Provide feedback on the “What”, own the “How”
Ensure technical quality, scalability and security of the products we build
Drive system architectural decisions
Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure the products we build provide positive user experience and meet all business and legal constraints
Skills and qualifications:
8+ years of professional software development experience.
Successful experience designing, building, and scaling production services, components, and infrastructure.
Extensive experience in Web3 development, blockchain technologies, and decentralized application architecture.
Proficiency in languages commonly used in the blockchain space (e.g., Solidity, Rust, Go).
Strong understanding of cryptography and security principles in the context of blockchain.
Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams
Demonstrated ability to learn new tech quickly and write secure and high quality code
Proven ability in spearheading development, showcasing an exceptional ability to innovate and drive progress
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity is the norm
Proactive, highly ethical and have an ownership mentality
Passion for all things Web3 / crypto, mindful, kind, and always curious
